The Central Illinois 9-12 Project Group serves as an “umbrella” group for a number of smaller, community-based chapters throughout the central Illinois area. The Central Illinois 9-12 Project Group lead organizer is Erin Tallon ; and the chapters are each headed by Chapter Leaders. The Bethalto/Godfrey/Alton group is a larger chapter with a website of its own (please see the link below).
Each of the chapters is, in general, studying and learning from the same resource(s) at the same time. For example, currently all of the chapters are studying the book The 5,000 Year Leap. New participants are welcome in each group.
Note that the PRIMARY goal of these chapters is to educate 9-12′ers regarding the principles of government that were established by our founding fathers. No particular political party is endorsed or promoted within these groups. We are not looking to spend considerable time complaining about political issues; rather, we are focused on developing SOLUTIONS to the problems that we see are facing our nation. Continuous or excessive personal attacks against particular political leaders are not needed or desired within the small groups. We already know that we and our country are in difficult times. What we need now is to determine how to go about turning the current situation around.
Please keep in mind that new chapters are in the process of being formed at any given time. If you are interested in helping to lead or attend a study group, please visit our MeetUp website for more information. Currently, we invite you to attend any of the following groups:
1. Petersburg Chapter (Leaders: Debbie Martin, Carol Muller, Sharon Baur)
2. Northwest Springfield Chapter (Leaders: Dan Barber / Nancy Treat)
3. Potomac (Vermillion Co.) Chapter (Leaders: Gina and Denis Judy)
